Sinndar was today reported to have returned from France in fine form following his impressive eight-length victory in the Prix Niel at Longchamp on Sunday.
And John Oxx hopes there is more improvement to come from the dual-Derby winner as he prepares to take on Montjeu in the Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe-Lucien Barriere on October 1st.
The Curragh trainer said: 'He`s fine. He`s in good form.
'He travelled home well, he ate up last night and he was fresh and well this morning.'
Oxx thinks that the colt has progressed since his nine-length success in the Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh in July.
'We were delighted with the run, he couldn`t have done it better really,' Oxx said.
'He`s entitled to beat those horses by a wide margin at level weights according to the ratings but still we had to be very happy with the way he did it.
'We`re hoping he`s on the upgrade all the time, it`s hard to tell from yesterday but it looked like he would be still improving.
'He`s improved every start throughout his career and we`re just hoping that he`s going to keep doing that.
'He`s certainly not going backwards and we`re hoping for the best.'
Sinndar`s only defeat so far came on his seasonal debut when Grand Finale beat him on soft ground at Leopardstown.
The going was described as good at Longchamp on Sunday but softer conditions in three weeks would not worry Oxx unduly.
'He`s the least complicated horse you could have,' the trainer explained.
'Yesterday was nice fast ground and he seemed to love that - he`s such a good mover.
'We don`t think he`s worried by soft, although statistics say the only time he was ever beaten was on very heavy ground.
'He seemed to handle it OK, I don`t think it was the ground that beat him he just needed the run.
'But you`d have to say the way he handled the ground yesterday you`d be hoping for the same on the day.'
Sinndar still has something to find if he is to beat Montjeu accordingto the British handicapper.
But neither horse had to match their best performances to win their Arc trials, Montjeu having been an easy winner of the Prix Foy, accounting for Crillon by a length and a half.
The British Horseracing Board`s senior handicapper Nigel Gray said: 'As far as Montjeu is concerned he was rated far in advance of his opponents and it did not tell us much more than we already knew about him.
'Montjeu was rated 135 in last year`s international classifications and hasn`t had to repeat that this season - even his King George win was rated at 129-plus.
'Sinndar went into the Niel rated 128, more than a stone superior to his opponents, but he couldn`t have been more impressive.
'He is still rated 128 so strictly speaking he has a little to find with Montjeu.
'But often it`s only when three-year-olds meet older horses that you can get a proper benchmark.
'It`s certainly building up into an exciting contest.'
Sinndar has been backed for the Arc today, with Ladbrokes cutting the three-year-old to 3-1 from 4-1 and William Hill going 3-1 from 7-2.
